Superchips and Motorsport

Our motorsport track record underlines our commitment to performance.

We are the only official tuning partner to Volkswagen Racing UK - all the Mini Coopers in the Scottish Mini Challenge run Superchips, as do all the cars competing in the BRDC's Single Seater Championship at Silverstone.

And Porsche Club GB has appointed us as a technical consultant for the Michelin Porsche Club Championship.

Superchips - be driven to work with the best

Matt Neal
Matt Neal is the first driver in the modern era to successfully defend the most prestigious prize in UK motor sport, the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship title.

The Birmingham-bred Team Halfords driver became the first driver since Chris Hodgetts in 1987 to win back-to-back BTCC titles.

Team Halfords' has also defended both the Independents teams' and outright teams' titles while Matt has added another Independents trophy to his collection of silverware.

In 2002 Matt had his first stint driving in a Triple Eight prepared Vauxhall for the Egg Team, finishing third in the championship. He then returned to his family team in 2004, winning the BTCC Championship in 2005 (scoring points in every single race) and again in 2006. The 6'6" driver earned the "people's champion" tag when he became the first independent driver to win a race outright.

Matt's return to Triple Eight for 2008 means partnering reigning BTCC champion Fabrizio Giovanardi in what should prove to be one of the fastest and most experienced driver line-ups ever seen in the British series. Superchips (a personal sponsor of Matt since January 2006) are proud to support him, and like many, are enjoying watching this talented driver go from strength to strength.

Tim Mullen
Superchips-sponsored Tim Mullen and teammate Chris Niarchos are the winners of the 2006 British GT Championship after taking points in both of the season-closing races at Magny Cours in France.

Tim Mullen: "The Championship wasn't really just about this (Magny Cours) weekend. We've all worked hard all year and that gave us the comfort to come here and cruise to the finish. We've had an incredibly successful year with 10 wins and lots of pole positions and fastest laps and I want to thank the team for all their efforts, they did a fantastic job, and of course Chris, who has driven like a pro all year!"

The Ginger Prince now has over 10 years experience with top performances in the British GT Championship, FIA GT Championship and Le Mans 24 hrs amongst others.

Tim Harvey
Tim Harvey, the former BTCC champion, has an unrivalled record in the Carrera Cup and will return to the championship in 2008 driving the new 911GT3 420bhp Cup car for a full assault on the coveted title.

Tim took part in the championship for the last four full seasons and raced the VIP car to victory during the inaugural Carrera Cup season of 2003. He has now contested 82 races and finished on the podium 56 times, scored 17 wins and set fastest lap 18 times. He has finished second, fourth, second and second in the championship over the last four seasons.

With principle backing from Nationwide Accident Repair Services plc, Harvey continues with Red Line Racing for a second season and is determined to challenge for the title that he narrowly missed in 2007. His will have a striking new livery that is sure to be an attention grabber.

"Having a driver of Tim's class and experience in the team is good news for everyone at Red Line Racing," said team boss Simon Leonard. "He's a real team leader and is a great source of information and knowledge for all our drivers."   Superchips are personal sponsors and are looking forward to supporting Tim all the way to the podium!

Volkswagen Racing UK

We have been appointed as the official Volkswagen Racing UK Tuning Partner. The role involves reprogramming the engine control units (ECUs) on all of VW Racing UK's competing cars, to boost engine power and torque within the strictly defined limits of the Volkswagen Racing Cup.

"This appointment is a true honour," said Superchips Managing Director, Ian Sandford.

"The Volkswagen Racing Cup is the fastest-growing saloon racing championship in Britain and we are delighted to be closely involved. Motorsport presents a fascinating challenge, as it requires highly precise tailoring of the engine mapping software. It's a natural extension of our ongoing research and development activities, through which we constantly introduce new applications for road-going cars."
